We meet to talk about our members and how they are doing. We discuss each person, some briefly and others at length. Our operations manager, <strong>Diane Strobel<\/strong>, often volunteers when she\u2019s not working and knows many of our members well\u2014their stories, history, and families. <strong>Liz Williamson<\/strong>, SCVV care manager, assesses potential members and keeps in touch with how members are doing. <strong>Betty Martin<\/strong> and <strong>Chris Powers<\/strong> are incredibly active volunteers as well as the heart of our membership team.  \n\n\n<br\/><br\/>\nAs the new SCVV chair, I\u2019m getting to know more and more members and volunteers and am in awe of the talents of the people I meet. Your accomplishments are impressive, and it\u2019s more than coincidence that many of us share similar backgrounds and stories. Recently, I was catching up with a volunteer who graduated from the same college as my big brother\u2014maybe not so unusual\u2014but he also was friends with the first boy to hold my hand during a field trip when we were in first or second grade! Our common ground was being kids in Baltimore.\n\n<br\/><br\/>\n\nWe have a strong group of volunteers. Our Steering Committee chairs and members welcome new people and ideas. As you read this issue of the newsletter, you\u2019ll see there\u2019s lots going on\u2014and more coming!
